Cards Given with Love

Besides interviewing I also sent out some cards for Veterans Day. I have even gotten a ‘Thank You’ from a cousin who served in the Marine Corps who actually typed out a 3-4 page letter. I haven’t done any of this to receive compliments or even a ‘Thank You’ it has been a blessing just to do so. To receive some of these unsuspected envelopes probably left me in tears.

I don’t usually share these personal artifacts of mine. I will share only the photos on the cards. These are cards that Uncle Tom sent me they mean a lot to me.

The messages inside are basically to say Thank you. He also said something in one that I am certain brought some tears when I first read through it. Talk about emotions these are his words.

I’m really glad us Veterans have someone on our side like you. We need a voice and you are our mouth-piece! God Bless The “Jewell” for Vets!

The envelope says 2009, I would have wanted to go and show this to Grandpa Freddy. He would have been gone though for nearly 4 years by the time this card came to me. Anytime anything happened I always wanted to show Grandpa; this was no different.

This was why I went into journalism. I have been missing the whole interviewing process. I no longer have my direct access to the Library of Congress like I had some things change. I don’t have answers for some of my questions of what to do, but who knows what could happen.

Once again, Thank You Veterans!
