A Ghost and the Roaring 20’s

Saturday I watched the new show on Hallmark. I wasn’t sure I wanted to I’m not much for ghosts and goblins, but this looked different. I have a love and hate relationship with Hallmark. I have spent more Saturday nights watching Great American Family Movies. They have more more of a religious spin to their movies it’s a nice outlet.

This show called to the historian in me with the Roaring 20’s beginning. The flair of the dresses and short hairstyles plus the music just reeled me in. It didn’t disappoint until the ending. It didn’t make sense.

For a fall-time and Halloween setting it was cute. It brought out the long-ago 1920’s back to life briefly. Ironically the book I am reading is set in France World War I just a couple years earlier. The ghost though, was surprised at seeing women wearing pants. It’s also an issue of sorts in my current repeat read of Ms. Breslin’s works, “Far Side of the Sea”.

It was simply a cute, flirty movie with some historical pizazz. A winning combination for the weekend. Also a forbidden romance among different classes. Something I do relate to in a particular way.
