With this 118th Congress; the Republicans are now in charge of the House. Investigations have been taking place for months now on important and imperative issues to tackle. The question is what will these committees give us as far as results for the American People!
Our Founding Fathers stole from the best when creating our government. Rome had a Senate and some of its legendary figures of Rome are still beckoning to us with the tales of their oratorical talents. While they aren’t the oldest of these tales the Greeks, Persians as well as other nations also have their own legends.

The first glimpse of Cyprian in this series is goose-bump material for romantics who enjoy the Roman sentiment of manliness. Something that now a certain class of people would say is toxic masculinity. This version of the Solicitor of Carthage is based on Ms. Gentry’s perception of what the Bishop and former Solicitor of Northern Africa might have been like.
For the first look at this man he is using his wealth, prestige and title to further the work of the Church of Carthage. It took him essentially having to appear as the same man he was known as, then the converted man he now was, in order to save a lower class of people. He was after all born into a family of patricians. He was Roman born and bred and was cultivated into a heart-breaker of sorts. Maybe a good example is John F. Kennedy Jr. Charismatic, gorgeous and used his talents so well that he was most likely popular because his persuasive skills won more cases than not.
There were certain laws in place that Cyprian was aware of and knew well. So in this glimpse of him he has come at the right time to literally save a damsel in distress. The funny thing is she’s a 21st Century American doctor; to the Western World she is highly notable due to the MD behind her name but that is also 17 hundred years into the future. However, everyone else in this 3rd Century sees her as simply a slave for now.
Once the Proconsul takes a slave the man or woman is his for life or until he frees them. Cyprian was given a heads up about a new group of slaves and arrived to spare them a horrific life in the palace for some of them. The slaves feet were dunked in a bluish powdery substance recognizing them as a slave if they did in fact run away. Death, I’m sure to some seemed more like a blessing that would finally stop the pain of their servitude.
We simply cannot imagine what this could be like… can we today?
Some of the Congressional Committees have met at our Southern Border which really seems like hyperbole. We don’t have a border down there and the Democrats are afraid to step foot into those congressional hearings for some reason. Not one of them heard any of the testimony first-hand where it was happening.

Slavery is alive and well just as it was under the Romans only its much worse in this modern era. America has always been a beacon for those poor and oppressed. Now, however the highly organized cartel factions of Mexico are doing what no Roman ever thought the possibility of doing, right!
History has a way of playing out again in different centuries with different groups of people. Do people ever learn from the past? We have the bible as a blueprint of this very same thing that happened time and time again in the Old Testament. This is really a watered down view of our indentured servitude problem on this continent. Unfortunately only God or the Oval Office can really set things straight and stop the pain and suffering of not only those slaves but of the American Citizens who didn’t ask for their resources to be taken by godless hordes called Cartels.
For being 1700 years ago, life hasn’t really changed in how people are being treated. It seems we are not so different where it matters. What has changed are the soldiers making profits of this commodity called slavery.
