You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?
The first thought that came to my mind was Papaw Freddy’s study. The weekend he died, that Friday I came home from college and everyone was up at their house. My parents, Uncle Tony and Mike, Grandpa and Grandma. I am sure my brothers were there, although Jared may have been at work I can’t really remember that specific detail.
On that day they were adding the brick to the outside of the east side of the house. Papaw took out the big window in the wall closest to the road it changed a lot to that front room. It was adding a rectangular size room to our front family room for his study room. However, that week changed things he did get to use it from the inside for a little bit and even got to read to Grandma in that room from the book of Ruth their favorite Bible passage.
It didn’t remain a study for much longer after that, unfortunately. It has always been my dream to fulfill Grandpa’s desire for a study though and return some of his own books and Bibles to the room. Now it’s a piano sanctuary, as much as I do love pianos I know that was not his intention for that part of the house and it was his desire before his death.

Besides returning his books I would like to have some kind of door or French doors for some privacy to read and write and perhaps think about my Grandparents from time to time. I am praying I will one day get this chance if it’s in God’s will. February 6th will be 21 years since that weekend.
