Arriving at my Uncle’s for dinner a little girl took my hand for an adventure. My cousins came home from New Mexico for an Alsman Thanksgiving which was pretty incredible. Earlier though in the week they came to our house for a little visit on Monday where I got a little dose of being Cousin Jewell, it was my title both days for one of the kids.
The older of the kids on Thanksgiving day even allowed me the title of Aunt like their Aunt Anna. I hated to correct him and I have been called this by so many times by other kids of no relation because of my niece. It’s a unique feeling.
Getting to spend time with the family I don’t get to see as often was such a blessing. Then to have my little cousins, who are not so little anymore, to have play time was absolutely priceless. Then a comment was made that she looked a lot like her cousin Selena. Of course I had to reply that yeah we all are cousins.
Eventually we had to leave, but if we hadn’t left when we did and we were 5 to 10 minutes later we would have missed most if not all of Dad’s side. They were all about to take off just as we got through the doors. We had less than 10 minutes and the parking lot was pretty much empty as we were one of the last couple of cars left.
Thanksgiving was a special day. It’s also the last day I wrote any post including this one that was never posted until tonight. The simple reason is my provider service has been awful this whole time since. Every time I tried to think about logging on I saw the “oops not connected” and I nearly lost my mind. So I kind of gave up on trying after the 15th time. Plus I went to bed with a bad headache and nausea and the next day wasn’t much better. Don’t know what came over me but it was a 24 hour bug of sorts.
A lot has been going on and hopefully the whole internet service is now back to normal, but I won’t hold my breath. I still can’t believe today is Christmas Day. It’s been a good day just as Thanksgiving was several Thursdays ago. This week I have felt a need to get back on here and finally today was the day. We only had one place to go for Dinner and we have been home since, we had our family Christmas yesterday for my niece’s schedule. Now the last thing on our Christmas list is our Cantata on Saturday because two Saturdays ago it was canceled due to the weather.
We are all excited to finally perform our Cantata this weekend and enjoy some fellowship afterwards with refreshments at the Pleasantville Community Church at 7 pm. One of our family’s annual traditions.
