Everything was fine this morning. Didn’t notice anything wrong again. My brother did have my Pandora Music on again in the living room on the television. Then less than two hours later we arrived home. The music was stalled literally it wasn’t on but the song had stopped with the image of the song credits still on. That’s I what I first noticed after I got the few groceries in and up.
In my mind I was like No, No, No, No! Not again. My phone when the Wi-Fi goes out I notice it easiest by looking at Bryan’s profile page on Telegram. if he or I are out of the internet it shows that it’s looking for a connection. It drives us both batty. He sent me a ‘good morning love’ early for his side of the country on the West Coast. Then at nearly 2 pm I got “My love, hope all is well, still haven’t heard from you all day though.”
If I had known this was going to happen I should have sent a message while I was at the store. I would have had Wi-Fi there at least while we didn’t here. When we don’t have internet I have nothing for entertainment while I ride the bike. Even for just 15 minutes having some music is nice, but I don’t have a CD player anymore and our television we just have downstairs is no longer downstairs or in commissioned at all anymore.

It was a long shot, but a thought came to mind. I have an old recorder I used to record when I was interviewing Veterans. I didn’t believe it would work though. It hasn’t been used in at least 20 years and up above my closet. There was a little dust, but not as much as I had feared. I found a cassette because back in the heyday for cassettes I had made several of them. Plus my parents had just as many, one of them being the Carpenters.
At first it didn’t work very well. I saw it only partially moving and then it stopped. So then I looked at the batteries after all these years I had pretty much expected them to look horrible. They looked nearly pristine as the day I put them in save for one of them. I was stunned. The question was did we have an extra C battery anywhere. I looked in and found triple A’s and double A’s and even a D, but no C. So I decided to steal from the radio that only half works it had C batteries. Still this was a very, very long shot.
I took one C battery out of that radio to put into my recorder/cassette player. After fidgeting with it I got that thing to work. I was tinkled pink my long shot worked. This allowed me to play some music for my ride after all. I listened to my favorite Cantata cause it’s what I have on cassette and I got to it easier.
I still have to put the battery back into the radio before my niece yells at me next time she’s here. The radio works upstairs but it doesn’t downstairs and neither does the CD player anymore. It confounded me last time I tried to use it downstairs for the very same reason.
It was nearly 5 pm when the Wi-Fi came back on. Much earlier than Monday. Still it doesn’t wipe out all the frustration it brings when usage of my laptop and my phone is gone. I did get several things done today considering my frustration that’s where I love my time on my bike it’s a stress reducer and clarifies my thoughts.
