Writing Prompt!
Thankfully I have not experienced such a thing. Perhaps I have gone thinking I lost everything since my phone or laptop has so much on either of them and probably more than my brain has at any point. It is a real and scary thing to lose possessions and I do worry about it, but I have mellowed out quite a bit from some of my worrying. Call it growing up or simply not letting the worry take over my joy for being in the present.
Life has seasons. I have experienced a myriad of life in the past 20 years. Possessions can be replaced, most of them. This is why Christians are urged to proclaim the gospel in Matthew Christ delivers His proclamation to all who hear him before he ascends to heaven. We are not promised tomorrow we must take care of our salvation now in the moment because no one knows what could happen in the next.
Possessions are material, your soul is not. Dying without salvation is much worse than losing a possession to a replacement. You cannot be replaced and you do not want to experience the other option. Your salvation is worth the loss of a possession.
