Writing Prompt:
Well there are several I am certain I could remember if only I had time to think of them. One would be Dialysis at DaVita and Fresenius. Healthcare has always felt like a job that took me out of my comfort zone. Mostly because I only took courses from Medical Coding that made me comfortable with medical jargon and Anatomy.
The job I was hired for was Patient Care Technician, yet others had dual positions. Several between both companies I worked with were PCT’s, but were firstly nurses by trade earlier in their careers. Although in my training I had PCT’s called Dialysis Nurses, it sounded odd to me.
However, I had worked with customers at Wal-Mart and changing that word to patients was relatively easy to do. Talking to my customers had been something I had to learn and I ended up enjoying the engagement as a cashier. As a PCT I simply had to think of it a little differently but it really wasn’t that difficult to learn the word engage I guess is the how I became had to learn to maybe stand out a bit more from the others. After all we each had our own experiences that shaped our outlooks and methods. Yet maybe I was a bit naive.
