Writing Prompt:

What skill would you like to learn?

One thing in particular comes to mind. Honestly I don’t know if it’s learning a skill or honing a skill I have learned through my experiences. This skill will be instrumental in hopefully a new job atmosphere I really want to begin now that my last big surgery is behind me.

Earlier this year I woke up with this pleasant dream and needed to use my Sunday School teaching skills. The thought of working with children to gently guide them came over me once again. When Dad was Superintendent at Fellowship I was one of the few in the church he could literally order to help when I was a teenager, it wasn’t bad like that though. I did enjoy teaching, now those same kids are out of college and I am feeling a bit old when I think to much about that.

However, it was one of the purposes God gave me. I had to stop teaching when my job got to be too much and I had several ages in one class instead of the one age-group like before. Wal-Mart wouldn’t budge on me when it came to having Sundays off no matter how many in a row I did work for them. The only good thing was I worked the hours I set, but I didn’t get much of a break. Being a teacher and in the choir I needed and wanted to be at church for both services though. I did get burned out on top of some other things going on emotionally.

God has given skills to everyone. Sometimes one good skill or many good skills. How you use your skills is what matters! What do you think God’s will is for your life? I am getting excited to see what this next chapter for me will look like!
