A Wicked Study

For a week Mom and I have been delving into scripture. More specifically in Genesis Eve and Sarah. I am still amazed at how these Biblical stories relate in today’s world even with the astounding differences of time.

The word wicked being used with these two founding Mothers of literally the world is still intriguing to me. Eve is the first woman, given to Adam to be his helpmate. That word helpmate has been used in private messages I have received from my significant other and been discussed many times. However, because she sinned and ate the forbidden fruit first, Eve has this connotation of being a wicked woman according to this study.

I know in scripture because of this sin they now must begin the sacrifices to cover their sin. There’s a book by

Jill Eileen Smith, one of my favorite Christian authors, wrote about Eve and Adam’s story. Could Eve have been in the very beginning weeks of her first pregnancy not knowing what mourning sickness was just yet and the devil used her vulnerable condition against her? This may seem like an excuse out of accountability, but that is how he works.

In the front of the study two definitions are given to the word wicked. 1.Morally very bad: Evil 2 a: Fierce, Vicious b: disposed to mischief: Roguish 3 a: disgustingly unpleasant: Vile b: causing or likely to cause harm, distress or trouble 4: going beyond reasonable or predictable limits’ of exceptional quality or degree. Secondly the Online Slang Dictionary says, very, very, good, excellent, extremely, in a grand way: “cool”; “awesome.” Like, that concert was wicked!

Again I still don’t believe Eve fits either of these definitions to a tee.
