Mostly the guys caught Blue Gill. Good sized Blue Gill. Dad was afraid there wouldn’t be enough at first. I am the one who suggested Popcorn Shrimp. I thought it would help to have another type of fish and I knew a certain teenager liked it over the actual fish.

As this photo portrays Mom was Dad’s sous chef helping him in his process to fry the fish. He had Cajun, half Cajun and half Mild, and Mild. We also promised potato salad and our version of baked beans. Then my cousins brought a pork loin they had smoked so we had a wonderful variety of food that evening.

The cake was also mighty tasty. We had picked it up the day before. We also got the potato salad the day before on Wednesday morning. Spreading some of our tasks out during the week allowed us to seek a measure of calmness for the day of the party. Even though there was still a Wal-Mart run for Crystal Light Lemonade to have besides the Sweet Tea and Unsweet Tea.
