Wow It’s Already…

A flashback from my first hardware removal.

The night before surgery again. It feels like deja Vu, right! This time I think I can safely say I won’t fade away for 5 months like last time. I needed that break and that time to really miss sharing stories with you all.

I am already as set as I can be for morning. I got a call back from my earlier calls this morning from Dr. Pecks office. After my first article and my first bike ride, Mom was riding when I got the first call. I had to run upstairs quickly so the nurse could hear me. I thought it would be one call, one nurse. Several minutes went on and several questions but not as many as back in February fortunately. By the time I realized she hadn’t told me the time, a second call with the same name on my phone came up. How often do you have two calls from nurses with your doctor’s name on both of them.

It kind of made me dizzy for a second. Then I realized two phones in the office with different extensions. The second lady gave me my time of arrival and time of surgery. Of course this is all tentative. I was also told it could be an hour earlier than when I got the call sometime after 9 am this morning. I had all the information I needed before 9:30 not half the day was over yet. However, this afternoon my surgeon decided she would get an earlier start in the morning and my surgery and arrival date was moved by 30 minutes earlier. This made Dad happy and it made me just as happy.

Depending on how tomorrow goes with the drive and how long I will have to recover before I leave will determine if I get a post done one handed. Plus I made sure my medicine is going to the main pharmacy I use. I don’t want to have to go back and forth and have to guess which one has the script filled. I do like not having days and weeks to worry about the surgery. Yet after 5 surgeries with my surgeon I know all too well the procedures and what I need. The Lord has blessed me with a talented doctor and surgeon.
