My heart still cannot simply move on from Charlie Kirk’s assassination. His death hurts his family most obviously, but secondly it hurts this Country in the long run because he was such a unique figure in our Religious and Political landscape. Truly a one in a million persona who could weave from religion to politics seamlessly and make it interesting enough to stimulate this incredible movement called Turning Point.
Why was he able to do this? He was a young guy. He had charisma. He knew his Bible as well as World History and so much more in between. Until last week I knew his name and that he was the founder of Turning Point. He liked to answer hard questions from students and really not much more than that honestly. His name always came up in my different feeds on my socials and he was constantly around the MAGA movement so I knew he was definitely around good people so he must also be a good person.
Is it unreal his death has shattered my heart without knowing him that well! Each day watching the tributes of those who knew him, I have learned so much from them. Earlier I watched both Erika and Charlie talk about how they met. The story is so beautiful and I like it in their own words together in a video. Then not to mention Charlie’s own words that can forever be heard online with his Turning Point or Prove Me Wrong videos to continue inspiring students and others.
While my heart feels shattered for his family the impact of his death has made a ripple effect. His influence can now be seen all over the world. Did he know the UK would take his wife’s life stream from Friday night but not all American newsrooms. Or that New Zealand men would be honoring him, the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and even the Spanish Conservative Leader all of these from the headlines of the Gateway Pundit.
The Lord is still working through Charlie’s movement especially now. It’s quite encouraging and difficult to stop watching the amazing crescendo that is doubling his movement’s energy with new chapter requests. God is not done with this movement or with Charlie.
