Writing Prompt:

Do you see yourself as a leader?

My first thought would say no! however, looking through the Bible how many people didn’t consider themselves to be leaders ended up being leaders! Moses is chief among them. His big sister though was older and knew her duties in the family and in the nation.

Many times throughout the years of Sunday School and reading books highlighting Miriam’s life has shown me astounding parts of her many decades of life. She was an older sister and had two brothers, and had musical talent. However, putting myself in her place as a Prophetess is a bit too much. Yet like her, God or in her case Jehovah, would speak to her and give her dreams. I don’t see dreams, but I do feel God’s presence and him showing me some of the intricate stories He has woven together. Sometimes it just takes a little of our faith to see God’s hand working around us in others lives.

She however, was a Prophetess, and Israelites came from the various Tribes to speak to her and receive her feedback and guidance. She was a gifted and beloved Elder who was celebrated, but who was still human.

All of this said I have been a Sunday School Teacher and I may be embarking on another work journey after my next and last surgery. Something I am excited about and look forward to for the new year.
