Writing Prompt:

Describe your ideal week?

Honestly, I have given up on my ideal this or that. Sometimes reality ends up better than my ideal idea that I can envision. Time and time again God surprises me with better twists than I can ever think of for myself. Last week was one of those. The temperature was pretty amazing most of the week Dad and my brother had Labor Day off then we got a surprise.

Our neighbors gave us their last batch of corn they didn’t feel like working up after their own two batches of hard work. It was a blessing we didn’t see coming and allowed us to more than double our quarts from our own garden. Yes it was hard work, but well worth the blood I spilt only a little bit of it thankfully.

Then Friday, we as a family were there for Mom as she had to deal with a big fear of hers. The implants are something she wanted so she could eat better, but the process she knew would not be easy or simple. We were able to be with her as she wanted to and pray extra for her as an army of prayer warriors were also praying for her. We have all been taking care of her and helping her not only since Friday, but since her fracture.

The past week has reminded us how important family time is to our lives. When looking at an ideal week alone time might be needed, but never forget the power of time with family. God prompts us Christians in the right direction when we need to focus on something specific… we just need to listen and act on that heavenly nudge.
