The Countdown Is On

The last list has been written down. However, some last minute cleaning duties are still being done. Dad did the outside stuff weeks ago and it made the carport, back patio, front patio and the picnic table look nearly brand new once again.

A day or two ago a new idea came to mind. I thought it would be nice to have a sign saying Happy Birthday. I got the wood frame sprayed down and wiped with wood cleaner. Then I sprayed Lysol again on it after I took out the pins and tacks my grandparents had on the bulletin board from over the years. I hadn’t taken much off since I got it from the house before the sale. It just had too much character and would always remind me of the Bishop kitchen as I will forever remember it as.

The funny thing is there are mushrooms on the bulletin. That must have been how it came. Yet everyone knows I am not a fan of fungus. It’s not like I have to eat them though and it is simply iconic of a kitchen I will most likely only see again in photos.

My Mom also during that time of getting stuff out of the house found two big books. They had samples of wallpaper or maybe something else. Earlier today I went through those enormous books. Even though the dust on them would basically make me a bit sick due to my allergies. I found a handful of good pieces to cut up and use with my Cri-Cut cutter. However, I did have some troubles with that this evening. Which is just a little bit frustrating.

Unfortunately, I had to stop because things were working as I had hoped. Yet I got enough done to have a really good start at what I wanted on the sign. God willing by Thursday I will have things ironed out. I am still really excited though with what worked there are just a few holes in the message.

After some good nights sleep and some clarity, I do hope it will look even better. Just 4 more days to our Fish Fry for Grandma’s 99th Birthday. Everyone on Sunday was getting excited when our family was visiting that afternoon.
