Interview Someone and write a post on their responses.
I am a bit rusty on interviewing. This used to be a fun hobby of mine that helped me talk to family members I didn’t know real well that served in World War II. It would take quite a bit of time to find their responses so I think I will answer this another way. This prompt brings about a lot of cherished memories back to mind. A lot of World War II images come into focus on older men I knew in their finest uniforms at much younger ages. Conversations with the men or their wives that I have had over the years and letters given to me documenting their service time.
Even last Sunday my Dad’s first cousins hand delivered to me a piece of history from my Grandpa Leo. Last year around the holidays not quite Christmastime I think I got a message from Kay about a letter Papaw wrote to “the Folks”. It is always nice to see and feel the letters there are so many more than I originally knew about. The one man I couldn’t interview… yet I still get to see his beautiful handwriting in twenty plus letters to his Folks, my Great-Grandparents or to Grandma Betty.
When was the last time you interviewed someone? An admired hero of yours or family member you didn’t get to know well or someone from history or could it all be the same person to you. There is never a bad time to interview someone you want to get answers from… there are only regrets of interviews you didn’t make happen.
