Prayers In Action

Circle-back Psaki says prayer doesn’t work. I can’t say how many times I have heard on the news how evil her text about prayer is ineffective. Nevermind… that the kids who were in the church were in there to pray when that maniac began this horrific nightmare for the families of these kids and the church and staff.

How insensitive can a person be? Yet this person used to be the spokesperson for the White House, albeit in a cringe-worthy way for most of us, that we tuned out of listening to her. She must have nefarious reasons for saying such a hateful thing nothing else makes sense except she is loco.

Prayer is powerful. Look at what can be done because of prayer. I like how Vice President Vance rebuffed her in that text of hers. It was in the likeness of a father who has seen his own children praying and the look of confidence and peace on their faces after doing so. This is what the country needed to hear today not of a has been Press Secretary who has no heart.

The power of prayer over generations resulted in President Trump’s first presidency and the over-turning of Roe versus Wade. The ability for him to name justices in his first term was truly by the grace of God and the years of prayers quiet prayers and loud ones said by young babes who heard their parents prayers growing up. Christians know that prayer is our not so secret tool that God empowered us with to help each other with as well as ourselves.

Without prayer already being in those kids lives yesterday could have been much worse and maybe prayers saved their lives. Even while two of them died if only the shooter had genuinely been a Christian maybe his heart would have been in a different place instead of completely lost as it was. It sounds like his Mother had worked for the Church or the school somehow it must not have an experience he gained or benefited from her sadly.

When Grandma lived in her house I remember she would say every night she prayed for us. Always, I pray for you, all of you. Knowing that was so comforting, but my family has always had a strong Church life on both sides of my family it has always seemed natural to pray for each other. Yet when she would say that it seemed more intimate and special knowing even as her children and grandchildren were adults she still prayed for each one of us and the Bishop Family is quite large and still expanding.

Prayer is still just as powerful as it has ever been we just tend to forget, with how busy we can be on a daily basis. Let’s use this horrific event to remind us how important family is as well as prayer is and praying for those we love on a daily basis!
