Sunday Evening Musings

My first Sunday back blogging and today has been a very special day. A birthday party was planned for this afternoon and was supposed to be the defining part of the day. However, God threw in some surprises and twists throughout the day’s journey.

Admittedly, it was still hard to get myself out of bed as tired as I was when both my alarms went off. Yes I used the plural form. I get up early and go back to bed for medicinal reasons. Still I did sleep in after that 2nd alarm a little too long. However tired I was I had determination. I made it to Sunday School early and it was a special blessing for me today.

Knowing I would be needing to leave early to get to our birthday party in order to have some time to spend with our family I just went to Sunday School this morning. The fact that I would be missing a chunk of my regular Sunday morning made the morning feel odd. Although that was the reason for going to church earlier to allow time to spread that word that I wasn’t just being a goofball missing the service. Unfortunately with my weekend; I had a lot on my mind and to ask requests for prayer.

Sunday School time at Grandma’s church has been a breath of fresh air for me. It took having surgery to begin going but it was so worth it. My neighbors drove me to church for a month and a half at least and I knew they went to Sunday School and I would have to be ready to go with them and I took the leap. I had wanted to earlier, but circumstances were just not right this timing was definitely in God’s timing though. I have enjoyed getting to know my grandparents friends in a deeper way. I’m grateful I have neighbors that were able to help me get to church when I was healing it was very much appreciated.

When I had said my goodbyes and was out the door though I noticed a familiar face in one of the vehicles coming in to park. I honestly had to look a couple of times even though the name Uncle Ron was on the tip of my tongue from the moment I saw him pull up. I took my things to my car and got another glimpse of him after he parked and saw he wasn’t alone. Apparently two plus two hadn’t added up to me yet next week is the Bishop Reunion and Aunt Irene was down and staying with Uncle Ron.

So I couldn’t take off until I got some hugs and talked a bit with my Grandpa Leo’s sister and brother in law. I don’t get to see either of them very often, mostly once a year for the annual gathering. I think I even surprised my Aunt Irene that I was even at Pleasantville, I guess I didn’t send her a memo and I know I have talked to her within the past year. Anyhow knowing they were there and would be there with Grandma while I wouldn’t be made my heart feel warm.

This is part of the park; it was pretty awesome.

We had a full car including a 13 year old and 8 year old girls. We were heading to a fairly brand new park up at Brownsburg. The party was for a little boy turning 2 years old. He was sporting his sunglasses most of the time enjoying being king of the cooler. He loved the freedom he had walking all over the place and just having fun. It was so much fun watching this guy be the king of the party.

The day had been beautiful the drive was a little rough Mom actually got carsick on the way up there. However, I got carsick on the way home. I couldn’t understand it she doesn’t get sick much at all anymore. I am the one that does especially on that curvy road we were on towards Avon yet I was fine until the way home. I wasn’t the one that threw up multiple times though.

What were the blessings in your Sunday!
