A Beautiful Morning

Freddy J. Alsman

My weather app says it’s 40 degrees right now it’s supposed to be partly cloudy. However, the sun is out and I can see the sun’s rays filling the sky. It’s a beautiful site for today, even though I am still not exactly awake. For some personal reasons I didn’t get very much sleep last night, but it’s nothing to do with what today represents.

Goodness 20 years later I don’t remember much about the weather that Sunday morning only that once again I didn’t sleep because I was sneezing my head off and coughing worse than the day I came home from college on Friday. Papaw did call that morning I heard the phone ring, but Mom answered it… that would be the last time he would call us asking about how I felt.

In order it’s Lilly, Me and Anna the oldest is standing and Ian does not look very happy. The first half of their 8 grandchildren.

There are so many reminders of Papaw Freddy and Grandma Rosemary since I still live in a newer house that used to be where Great Grandma Mattie lived with her family and north of here is still where my Grandparents house and where Uncle Tony resides now. They are everywhere here yet I still miss them nearly every day. One of my favorite memories was seeing Grandpa and Grandma in his forest green Ford Truck running around on Farm and Family Business.

Since I don’t have a photo of that truck I have this oldie.
