Birthday Blessings

How often do you get to share your day with Martin Luther King’ Day and the Day to swear in our new President?

Well I have never not shared my day without the President Elect which can be unfortunate at times. Not unlike the last time only 4 years ago. Talk about difficult birthdays! However, today was the fulfillment of the past 4 years it’s what makes those years learnable and a way to say we as a country have persisted in spite of the difficulties.

Today I woke up to the first message of the day. It was from the man I love who wanted to make sure his Wi-Fi in Los Angeles wouldn’t ruin his chances to give me his heartfelt words. At this point in time I hadn’t seen my two Messenger texts that came from some other night owls I know. It’s been a marvelous day though since I saw his first Birthday greeting to be able to watch all the Pomp and Circumstance of the Inaugural Proceedings.

Thankfully Bryan and I have been conversing on and off through the day. I have been making him drool showing him the bacon and sausage pizza I made and then icing my own cake and shooting him off a photo of that and my plate afterwards. Our favorite cake, at least one of them, is Red Velvet. I have also been keeping him informed about how the new recumbent bike works. Today I officially began a new workout since I may not be able to fully ever walk at the Cemetery as long as I used to at 40 minutes.

Honestly I feel like I have run two marathons today. The sad thing is it was only 5 and a half minutes. I had to lessen the tension a little bit so I could just get used to it today. Saturday I was on the bike for a minute and a half. It’s been a long time since I have walked much less on a bike. It will take a couple of weeks to get used to the bike, but I am excited again about exercising. Plus because of Christmas money and discounts this $340.00 bike was only $135.00 divided between me and Mom. The only downside is I couldn’t choose a color palette. I for sure wouldn’t have chosen my high school colors or Purdue’s if I had the chance to change them. If only I could have chosen purple or green, but gold and black. Even my OCU, Oakland City University colors would have been good blue and white. Oh well, I still really like the bike.

Saturday we did my birthday dinner early because there was something going on for my parents this morning. My fortune cookie ended up hitting the nail on the head. It said, “Mondays are a reminder to appreciate the gift of a new beginning.” That seems like an understatement today. I am most appreciative of the many new beginnings today has begun. The 1500 January 6 protesters have been pardoned. If Biden can pre-emptively pardon his family from real crimes and horrible people on the death row; Trump can pardon people who were clearly using their God given Constitutional rights 4 years ago who have been mistreated by their government and lawfare.

Yes today was the beginning of Trump’s new era. The Golden Age of America, he has even already signed into effect the Gulf of Mexico is now the Gulf of America. The America First agenda is taking off as quickly as possible without time to waste and even Marco Rubio is now officially our Secretary of State and the Laken Riley Act has been passed by the Senate it’s been a busy day for Trump and the Senate. Although it has been cold it’s been a beautiful day.

I love the fact that today marks the first time since Reagan that a President was Inaugurated in the Rotunda because of the weather. The day that Reagan did was 40 years ago when I was born and here in Indiana it was -22 and my Grandpa was outside in a suit trying to take care of a downed tire. Trump and Reagan have so many amazing similarities I feel blessed to be able to share my birthday with these men on this one day. The intricacy of how we interconnect is wonderfully incredible. I cherish having a birthday like this among the great American Presidents of our most recent history.
