Therapy

Goodness, I was surprised today. Somehow during a nap I heard I had a phone call. For some reason both the Podiatrist’s office and the Hospital keep calling me through Mom’s phone number. I don’t quite understand when I have given them my number.

The good news is that tomorrow will be my pre-session testing, for lack of a better phrase. My therapy won’t start in the morning, but it will be the day for them to see what needs to be done. I’m still hoping they can get me in earlier than my birthday. Maybe tomorrow will uncover some answers.

If they hadn’t called today I wouldn’t have made it tomorrow. When they called the first time Mom didn’t get the dates right when she told me. So I had no idea about tomorrow, I thought it was in the new year the day before my birthday. At least that was what I understood. Gosh thank goodness they were prepared with a reminder call. Tomorrow is already going to be busy with the Thanksgiving Dinner at church. Then my appointment and another one for my Mom and brother later in the afternoon. It probably means I will be making our dish for dinner that evening while they are traveling back from the appointment.

I sincerely want and need this therapy for my foot like yesterday. Not being able to walk is draining and actually making my Mom’s diabetes troubles worse. The exercise was amazing and it’s a big accomplishment for the injuries sustained in my ankle. Being able to go against the odds feels good, but so does feeling good from the exertion knowing it’s good for both of us.

Tomorrow begins the first of three church dinners I will be partaking of in the next two weeks. At church we will be having an Advent Dinner on December 1st something I have never heard of and yet I am looking forward to it. Only after a goodbye dinner to our Preacher who is stepping down and then like I said the dinner tomorrow night at my parent’s church for Thanksgiving. I feel overly blessed to have such an amazing Church community to be sharing food and company with over the next 14 days even as the last one will be more solemn a celebration of a nearly 20 year career for this man at this church.
