About Last Week…

There was about a 24 hour period a week ago, I believe, that I initially saw the missing persons posts on Facebook. Life is so unfair. This teenage girl sensed something was wrong. At this point, though, I didn’t even know about the girl I didn’t read that far down apparently.

Still I am an outsider to this situation that had brewed and dissipated when no one really knew what had even happened. What I do remember from these posts was that it said the mother and son lived in Lyons. My family and I have spent a lot of time going through the area of Lyons. We had a few fields on the east side. Some days we had to make 2 to 3 treks to help our farmers move trucks, the combine and all the equipment from field to field. I remember when I was finally the age to drive. Grandpa and the guys were so happy to have an extra driver in the mix. Then it wasn’t long before they had two of us when Jared began driving. Although he was already driving tractors well before that time.

Anyway… when I saw they were from Lyons I thought that’s a long way from here. Never in my wildest nightmares did I predict this ending though. I didn’t recognize the names either; except for her last name. Jerrells. One of Dad’s sisters married a Jerrells and I have three cousins with that last name. As far as I know there is no relation. My aunt wasn’t around Sunday to say anything either so I could find out differently. So that could be a tangent for another day.

So that was it… I didn’t see anything more for a couple of days. To be honest though, I am barely on Facebook except to post articles anymore. I browse a little bit, but I don’t really converse or get too into other peoples conversations unless it’s family or close friends. That may be changing due to some other circumstances however.

Not much seemed to change until later on in the week…

…Continue to pray for this family who has now lost two members and especially this young lady my heart breaks for what she is having to go through. She did the right thing getting the word out as she did. That had to be an impossible situation for her to initiate herself.
