My foot has been something to deal with recently. Walking is still something I don’t want to give up, yet I have to be ever cautious and mindful of the pain that is or isn’t radiating from my ankle.
The routine is to put my Voltaren on once every morning before walking. When I was working though the routine I had was to put the cream on at bedtime and first thing in the morning. It turns out that I will have to go back to that routine. I could feel a big difference this weekend in just the doses of cream. Then I also added Ibuprofen. Friday morning I only had one dose of cream and took the Ibuprofen later I only made it to 25 minutes of our 40 minute walk. My limp was simply too pronounced.
Then on Saturday morning I did it all Ibuprofen, two doses of cream and I survived to 40 minutes once again. This morning I thought well if I add Ibuprofen maybe I can still just do one dose of cream; yeah I was wrong. I made it to about 27 minutes but I felt the burning for a good while. We came home ate breakfast took pills and I put a second dose of cream on. Then after a little bit we went just a bit from our house to the other Cemetery Hickory where Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Mike are among some other family members. We got well over the 13 minutes we still needed; the pain was gone though.
So that means I have to do the whole kit and caboodle to have a successful walk. Just up until a couple of weeks ago I really didn’t need these extra pain killers to walk for exercising for 40 minutes. I have never wanted to feel like I have a disability, but there are times this foot just makes walking so much harder. My foe is not my foot though; it is cement floors.
