A Week of Enormous Moments

My work area has changed nearly every day one way or another. It didn’t look like this Monday night that’s for sure!

Sunday was a big day in itself last week. Not only did I celebrate Homecoming at my parents’ church, I was not only preparing for my church’s Homecoming but for Grandma’s birthday. Choir practice Sunday evening and Tuesday were refreshing times of preparation for me.

Not to forget the Ladies Meeting and the dynamic Debate afterwards. It’s been a big week for certain. Then for those in my parents church they have had Revival Meetings all week. Yet she took time to come with me to the Ladies Meeting on Tuesday. Details were discussed for Homecoming and I think except for a few who have more intricate jobs are mostly looking forward to just enjoying the day on Sunday.

The attendance usually swells greatly on Homecoming Day. Various families come back home like mine to celebrate with Grandma. I will be one of 3 soloists and the choir has a few songs to sing. Even Dad will be joining the choir for two of the songs so Grandma and I think Brenda is just as excited for that as well. We went through our food list Tuesday night, my goodness no one will be leaving hungry. Mom and I will be making baked beans and broccoli and cauliflower casserole. Fried chicken is the main entree although there will be some meatballs and a loin it will be a bountiful dinner.

Last week’s Smoked Brisket and Chicken was pretty good though. A pastor friend of Bethel’s had wanted to smoke some food for the church for a few years and Pastor Cassel gave him the opportunity. It was absolutely heavenly and the baked beans were smoked as well I can still smell the tantalizing aroma. Plus we got some of the left over beans.

As far as the Debate Tuesday night…? I watched for all of 26 minutes. After fact-checking Kamala myself, just by what I know, not needing to use any devices, I counted no less than 5 lies before I turned her off. I was yelling at the television and decided to reduce my blood pressure by turning on a less mood-inflaming movie.

Over the days of the media hyping her supposed win it’s been nice to see that rectified. Now the analysis is in. Most Independents were liking Trump’s answers, not her empty platitudes. Actions talk loudly. Now the tide of analysis has turned. He was already the winner because his record is impeccable and she had to deflect and hide from hers. Now the voters are talking for him with their experiences because of his facts. The truth is coming to light.

Trump made a big decision yesterday. He is done with debates and I think those of us who support him agree he has accomplished what he needed to do with them. His message needs to get to the people of this Country. Sparring with the opposition isn’t necessary anymore; many can see her for what she is now we get to watch the Vice Presidential Debate. This will be intriguing to watch Vance is a master showman with debating as well.
