A few weeks ago I mentioned my worst encounter with having to go to the dentist. Today was the exact opposite. Although, I didn’t have my appointment marked into my phone. Sometimes I take photos of my appointment card, but I missed doing that this last time.
Usually Ms. Brittany calls me a week before my appointment. I never got the phone call. I looked through my missed calls a few different times just to make sure. It kind of bothered me, but then I would forget to call and check up on my appointment. Then this morning my phone didn’t charge up during the night. I woke up to only 9% charge on my cell. Talk about being frustrated.
Anyway I figured if I didn’t get the phone call maybe I don’t actually have an appointment. Fast forward to nearly 20 minutes to 2 pm this afternoon, Mom all of a sudden remembered something from earlier this morning. At nearly 10 am she got a phone call from the dentist’s office about my missed appointment. She gets the second call if I don’t answer, but then she forgot to tell me about this make-up appointment.
My goodness talk about, like a daughter like the mother. Absent-minded women. It made the day more interesting for certain, I suppose. We met a man who used to live in Linton who actually lives in Indy right now, but he’s looking to move back down here. He shared a couple of his life stories with me and Mom. Telling us as we looked at the children’s corner of the lobby with the reading books and said he could remember his younger self in that same corner so many years ago. Dr. Witherspoon was his dentist back then though. I hope that’s the right spelling I don’t personally remember that doctor, but I do remember that name from hearing my family talk about him in this office before our current dentist.
Fortunately or maybe unfortunately we had to do teeth x-rays. I’m glad it’s usually a quick experience that takes very little time to do and they are over with. He said my teeth looked good and he usually says keep doing what you have been doing with them. One of my bad habits is not flossing though. I do need to do better and actually start flossing more. I have tons of dental floss, I just don’t take the extra time to do the flossing. I need to get into the good habit of flossing. I know I heard somewhere it’s good for your heart to floss so why can’t I stick to making it a habit!
