Jewells of Thought

Did you have a good day? My Dad and brothers didn’t have to work. Plus my niece had the day off from school. We got to eat as a family for dinner. It was a good day to be an American living in the Hoosier state.

Earlier this morning I went to the store with Mom and my niece. I asked the wrong question. So for months I have been without a working watch. It bothers me no matter if I had my phone I would time myself with my breaks as a cashier with my watch. Yet every time I reached for my wrist and realized once again oh no no wrist watch anymore I would then have to touch and play with my wrist missing that darn piece of jewelry.

Then this morning I don’t know why I did it. I knew if I asked her I would get some outrageous response and yet I did it. I asked my niece which watch she liked! I really wanted one with the numbers all the way around, but nope she wanted the digital one. I can’t be mad since I walked straight into it, but it does have a stop watch feature as well as a light and it’s water resistant. She was really wanting one with water resistant for some reason talking about when she does dishes she didn’t want to have it go bonkers on her.

Yes she wanted us to be twins with our watches.

Personally I would not have wanted black but the other color was white and I didn’t really want that either. She was so excited about having the same watch though so I couldn’t put the brakes on what I started. After all I did get a watch so I don’t have to feel funny not wearing one. Although it feels a little funny all of a sudden wearing one and it being black. Thank goodness the multicolor inside circle is what stuck out to her and to me with that lovely feminine touch. It might come in handy for walking as well when I forget my phone like yesterday. The timer may prove to be a good feature in the long run.

Isn’t laboring worth the work when you can spend a day like this with those you love the most! Americans have always had such pride in keeping a balance of work and life balance no matter what shape the economy is in.
