The Sweetness of Church

After a long weekend of going back and forth getting up was a little hard this morning. Although I did sleep in a bit from my usual morning routine. When I got to church this morning I was greeted by Ms. Debbie in the parking lot and we got to walk up to the Fellowship double doors where I got to also greet my Grandma and walk in with her.

When we got inside I got some news instantly from Ms. Sue. She told me Ms. Brenda was not well and would not be at church this morning. Yet when we went further into the church I was surprised to see how her roles would be taken on within the congregation. A very sweet moment was taking place today a great-grandma got to play piano for the congregation while her very young great-granddaughter led the music for at least two of the Hymnal Songs. I am uncertain of her age but that was a big task for one so young.

Gloria must have been as thrilled as her daughter to see their granddaughter and great-granddaughter have such enthusiasm to sing in front of the congregation. It was such an adorable sight to see and I relished telling my parents and my aunts and uncles at Grandma’s later on this afternoon.

Then this evening another really cute and laughable matter happened. Tonight at Fellowship the preacher asked for us to give him our favorite songs we were to sing for the start of the service. He began with a favorite of his and then we did another song, Under His Wings. After that song he asked for another one. Little Riker had a song that actually stumped the preacher. He didn’t know it, but he still played it and we sang the first verse twice. I don’t remember the name of it now. It really had a nice melody and we just need to sing it more so we can learn the song in the future. It was just another cute musical moment with a child and that was the awesome part of today. Watching the younger generation in church learning some of the musical parts of church.

It’s amazing to watch and observe little ones learning how to share their faith.
