Sometimes it’s good and a lot of times it’s not. Yesterday as I mentioned I was a bit panicky. I don’t always do well with deadlines. Procrastination was a word I knew well in school. It was a word I lived by literally.
This project was nothing like procrastination though. As soon as we met little Jonathan and saw him on the tractor I knew one of his presents had to be this visualization I had for him in my mind. I also knew that these patterns could be tricky to work with and knew I would have to work on it everyday as much as I could without working tiresome. It’s when I’m tired mistakes seem to happen. No I knew it would be a task, but it would be a task well worth the effort for my little cousin and his parents.
Last night I wasn’t too thrilled with the lack of sweetness in my tea. So I did a horrible thing and switched to Dr. Pepper for my supper meal. Yes, exactly this was going to keep me up for a bit. However, I decided to garner that switcheroo and use it to my advantage. It also helped knowing we couldn’t walk this morning due to an early morning appointment. I would be able to sleep in a bit and I did until 7:30. It was actually a nice break from our routine but I will miss the workout if we can’t figure out how to get our walk in considering it did rain a bit earlier.
Last night I actually stayed in the living room working on the tractor until 10 till 11:00. Maybe not even that long also considering I had another sneezing fit and had to take some Benadryl before I called it quits. To my amazement I got a good chunk of it finished in a few short hours. Before 10:30 this morning I finished the tractor. This leaves me with less than 2 days to cut the fabric and make the cross-stitch piece into a pillow.
So again, I know soda isn’t good to drink, but it did keep me pretty oriented to finish my goal of completing this project before Saturday. Thank goodness God has given me the strength in my fingers, hands and wrists along with the eyes and mind to follow the pattern. I feel very fortunate and grateful to be able to use this gift of laboring for love for those I love.
