Wow it was quite the weekend. My family closed on my Grandparents house after a very long process. Plus you all know about the green beans from the same day. However, that was before exhaustion hit us in various stages.
On Friday I did most of the green bean preparations, but my parents did help me finish things up. As a way to enjoy the evening I thought we might all like to watch the Olympic Ceremony that was supposed to be on right about the time I began blanching the green beans. Apparently my timing was off on the official beginning since we missed the distasteful opening sequence. We would have turned the channel immediately knowing that was to be shown.
There were some articles I had read talking about the direction of trans women in the ceremony. I didn’t grasp the entire conversation until the next morning. The group of “Outnumbered” pretty much summed up my thoughts on this heinous display. I was even shocked when I read another article that cited Jillian Michaels. She called it “The Last Supper” a “mockery”. She also claimed it was “hypocrisy” and “lack of understanding” in this feature parody of a sacred Christian piece of art of the accounting of Christ’s Last Supper with his disciples. She bashed her own community pretty hard for this intolerance that they claim Christians don’t have for them. Talk about a heart to heart moment for her to have to make.
Yet, of course, there were those who loved this horrid display. One person in particular, Jill Biden. It shows the lack of moral guidance she has, but she is the grandmother who refused a granddaughter so what should we really expect from her? Not to mention the fact that she let the man she says she loves be embarrassed on the world stage for 3 plus years during the time he should have been in retirement and at home with family, not being hoisted in front of the media when he was obviously not at his best. This is that same woman.
So Saturday morning it felt like the entire week finally just caved in on me. I was emotionally and physically exhausted. I even turned down a trip to Terre Haute to stay at home and take a nap and watch not just one but 3 old movies. I just didn’t have the energy to do anything, except sit and work on one cross-stitch project that is very special and watch some movies I had never seen before. One had Shirley Temple when she was a teenager, the 2nd one was about the Santa Fe railroad and had Randolf Scott in it, another favorite guy of mine. The last one had Marjorie Main a staple from my childhood of watching Ma and Pa Kettle and it also had Donna Reed and Harry Morgan another of my favorites from MASH. I couldn’t turn the channel and miss any of these oldies but goodies.
Sunday was a good day. Not for all of us though. Mom ended up being the exhausted one and Dad inexplicably threw up when I got home from church. He seemed to be fine otherwise and ate the ribs and green beans we all worked up on Friday and one batch Saturday night. Today it happened again to me. I was so tired this afternoon I set a timer to sleep for 30 minutes. Then I added another 5 minutes. Then I didn’t set another timer I came in my bedroom a little after 1:30 and woke up at nearly 3:30. I took off my contacts so I thought. When I woke up I didn’t feel too good. Then when I opened my contacts case I noticed my left contact wasn’t in the case. It was still in my eye, while I did take my right one out. So it’s been a peculiar few days for us around here. Hopefully tomorrow things will be better!
