A Green Bean Surprise

We had a nice cool walk today for a nice change. Afterwards I ate breakfast, but then Mom and I took a little trip into Linton. When we got back we were surprised to see our neighbor, his dog and a big bucket of freshly taken out of the garden green beans.

Even from where we were, we could see they were good looking vegetables. He asked us if we wanted some or actually the whole bucket worth. Then he proceeded to remind us of when our farmers sprayed our fields earlier. Both our neighbors gardens were accidentally harmed from the spraying this spring, however, it may have done something else entirely. He believes the spray actually fertilized his garden. So he brought us some green beans. We have been giving them both some of our produce so he returned the favor.

Actually he returned the favor in a big way. He sent us two more buckets of them. As of now I have cut and washed half of our supply of them plus my parents took some to Dad’s sisters just a little while ago. I had to put on two doses of cream on my hand and I took some Tylenol at the end of my cutting for today to make sure my hand would last. Fortunately it all worked and my hand didn’t hurt as much as it could.
