Jewells of Thought

Since the attempted assassination two weeks ago politics have gotten just as crazy. Sunday was inevitable, but not a surprise. Yet the message was clear something was happening behind the scenes to make such a sudden change.

Summers always go too fast. Time with my niece is still too short, but moments we cherish. The one week at a time has increased to two weeks at a time, but still time with her for us is short and sweet. The word busy doesn’t completely tell the whole story and spending quality time with her is rare.

Last night something happened in which we lost time with her and she was actually put into a bad position. My Mom and I didn’t get to bed until we heard she was at home which we didn’t hear until about midnight. It was an anxious night to say the least. It left us quite tiresome today as you can imagine.

One thing I have noticed with my niece since Grandma Rosie died is how close Selena has become to Aunt Helen. We have spent more time with her and Selena loves it. Today she didn’t want to leave Aunt Helen’s side she made herself at home. Plus her granddaughter’s dog was there, Harley, we all enjoy watching her run around the house. Yet after last night being with family and giving Aunt Helen some lowdown on what’s new with us I think she needed it and Selena, just as much.

Family time is precious. Take advantage of it with your loved ones. Sometimes the good kind of crazy family is good!
