The Spirit of American Unity

When I began watching the first session yesterday it was a bit emotional. Hearing the National Anthem for the first time since Saturday was extremely emotional for me. It was difficult to not have tears dripping down my face hearing that melody.

There were two sessions and it was my first time watching all of it for the first day. I have not seen the convention, but once for the 2020 Convention. I had never paid much attention to them before or had time to give them my attention. Yet last night seemed like a Republican Party that was unified and enjoying the announcements of the day.

There were so many speakers for Day 1 of the Convention. The highlights would be the ‘Everyday American’ speakers, the President of the Teamsters Union was quite interesting and least but not at all the last Senator Tim Scott and his ‘roaring lion’ comments brought the room to life. It was an exciting night as we found out JD Vance was the pick for Trump’s number 2 position, plus hearing the song ‘God Bless the USA’ by Lee Greenwood himself already having been emotional was amazing. Everyone inside the Convention has been having a wonderful time. The look at Trumps face though as he walked inside was breathtaking. His emotions were on his face, I believe tears were hard for him to staunch the entire time he was inside the Convention. A very sobering reminder of what we nearly lost Saturday night.

It’s hard to not have hope especially with the great news that yesterday brought us. Judge Eileen Cannon through our Trump’s non case finally. She stood up for the constitution and gave us a major win to start the Republican National Convention on this new Unity measure that our Country has truly needed. It is in fact Wisconsin that began the Republican Party 170 years ago.
