My Monday

For a few seconds I didn’t think we would get our walk in. I got up and didn’t want to physically leave the bed. I had to take my pill though, so I forced myself to take it. Then went back to bed for a couple minutes more.

Somehow I found the strength to get up and head to the cemetery. We got up before 7 am and were done walking by 7:30 giving me plenty of time to refresh before my appointment. I was heading to Sullivan and my niece was supposed to have an appointment and so my brother was also heading that way, while our parents were heading in the opposite direction. Dad had an eye appointment in Bloomington too.

The frustrating part is that although I had my appointment and Dad had his the third one didn’t happen. My brother was even in front of me heading to the clinic waiting for his daughter when I went in after talking to him first. His car was gone by the time I got out of my appointment though and I never heard any familiar voices when I went back into the room. His car was gone by the time my appointment was over and I had to give up some blood for my 6 month check on a couple of things.

It would have been nice for him to have the heads up that his ex was sick. Even then though he could have taken his daughter himself, but nothing is ever easy I guess. I am grateful though that my debate has been settled. I don’t need to go to an Allergist right now so I am very happy about that. I was ready to go if it is what I needed to do though, to get some answers and to heal.

Today I also got to text with a cousin living in Newburgh. Plus we spent more time with Aunt Helen since we delivered her some cucumbers. Apparently we have one of the few gardens that actually have a lot of cucumbers right now. Somehow I feel like I am living in an alternate universe in a way I have heard that both Tracy and Kenny and Devona’s funerals will be held in my High School where all of us except Devona graduated from. Both of the newer gyms will be used. Of course the 1st gymnasium is under the school. Talk about a big day for funerals/Celebration of Lives it will be a big day for our Alma matter; not a parking spot will be left open.

Not to mention that while we were at the house with Aunt Helen and her granddaughters another drop off of goodies was made. This lady was the sister of a beloved, legendary, Union High School Teacher, Mr. Tom Hiatt. He was our favorite Chemistry Teacher, and my uncles have lots of stories of some shenanigans they did while in his class years earlier. Seeing her brought back some memories of Mr Hiatt and Super Bowl, Beta Club, of his camera. He always had his camera hanging around his neck. Goodness it was a lot to take in with everything over the past 48 to 72 hours.

This is me and Kenny when I was a toddler. I can really see his twins in his face here.
