Friday Night

The temperature has risen around here. It has been in the 90’s range. Anywhere from 94 to 96 I believe are the numbers I have seen on the car monitor during the past few days. Going back and forth like we did was stressful enough on all of us in this heat, but that evening I noticed something else.

My ER visit was already a month away I have looked at where my rash was at last and I thought for sure by now it was gone. Like I said though the temp and the stress must have really messed up my body. The rash was hot and deeper red than it was even before. I had to change and wipe down with a soapy wash rag, but it hurt like it did right before my first ever surgery for an infected cyst. So it scared me a bit too.

Not until after I was in bed did I realize I had some Benadryl left I could take for it. I only had a few doses left so I thought it better to see how things looked in the morning. Nothing had really changed though. When I checked the rash after taking a dose it had cleared up by at least 50% and I couldn’t feel it anymore. The ironic thing is that a much smaller version of Friday happened last night, but I didn’t notice anything to the degree of how it hurt on Friday.

Unfortunately my car’s air conditioning isn’t the greatest in this degree of heat. I was waiting to eat with my parents after church last night and literally turned into a lobster. I went into the bathroom my face looked horrible and then my sweat had gotten into my eyes and they were stinging at one point. All of this because I didn’t realize how bad my AC was and hoped my parents would get out a bit earlier than usual.

Sunday I only had one dose of Benadryl and I took it earlier in the day. It would have been gone by the time this happened. So again I am still confused at how this rash has lasted this long. Thankfully I am taking more Benadryl I see the Nurse Practitioner again soon, I may have to take her up on meeting the Allergist on our next visit. Taking shots on a weekly basis doesn’t have a good ring to it though.
