A Prayer of Gratefulness

Heavenly Gracious Father, sometimes I forget how big You are day to day. I let the daily grind gnaw me down. Stress has been intrusive as well as physically with my allergies. Just in the last couple of days I have been sneezing more although I am pretty certain why and it has to do with my Grandma’s stashes. The tins and big storage containers have had a lot of dust.

Tonight I was able to get much more done than I thought I would because we need to have Grandma’s Pfaff serviced. This morning Mom and I noticed some Brother sewing machines were at some really good prices, but we passed on them. Between not finding crucial parts to Grandma’s mobile sewing machine and the other one having to be re-threaded every 5 seconds so it seemed I was coming apart at the seams.

The Lord works in such amazing and mysterious means though and we were able to get one of those nicely priced machines. I am still pinching myself and I nearly got three pillows started into different phases of their process this evening because of this amazing development.

Now I can stitch without having to thread over and over again in a matter of seconds to minutes. I will miss not working with Grandma’s machine, but we will get it fixed. Until then I have a working machine and I am excited to see how the stitches will fit together. Lord your timing is best and today was an amazing day to find that deal. I am grateful for your love and guidance when I truly needed it. I used to be afraid of sewing machines; I thought I would break them.

Thank you Lord for giving me this new interest a way of connecting with both of my Grandmas and especially Aunt Helen who gave me a lot of pointers last week. I am happy to still have Grandma’s sister to ask questions of and who has also been a legendary seamstress herself. Lord I am blessed with woman who have amazing skills in my life and have taught them to us younger generations. These skills have brought incredible experiences to my life. Lord help me to do my elders proud in Jesus Holy Name Amen!
