Jewells of Thought

Last night the sewing machine went down on me. I have to get some oil in order to get it going again. So in the meantime this morning after taking our walk Mom and I did some looking for the other machine. Grandma had a mobile machine the brand is Brother, but since I took a closer look at it a week or two ago we noticed it was missing a couple of items.

Little did I know that I just needed to look into Mom’s old closet. However, I didn’t know and we started with the area in front of the closet and it still took a long time before I even looked at the top of the closet. We spent most of our morning going through Grandma’s secret stashes in her tins. That’s where she kept her sewing stashes of needles, thread, buttons and fabric. We found no less than 6 tins plus two big boxes with compartments full of the same inside. It was like being with her again looking through these items that she personally touched and put up years ago.

So yes I did find the items I was looking for as I said up in the closet. Yet as soon as I got the stuff down here at home for closer inspection I realized there are still a couple of things missing from this Brother machine. I thought I had made a breakthrough and I would be able to get back to my projects promptly this afternoon. That did not happen once I realized the bobbin area underneath didn’t look right according to the instruction book and from what I have seen in other machines lately. So I still have problems. It seems I get going a good couple of steps and then I get pushed back 3 steps. Honestly I am having a hard time today keeping my hope in resolving one of the two machine problems within the next couple of days.

We have two options with the possibility of ordering some things online. The timing and lack of productivity is just really frustrating me. I am trying to work on some other aspects of the projects. Last night didn’t really help though I stayed up too late, almost to midnight putting floss on some bobbins for my cross-stitch preparations. Tonight I was able to fully finish that task fortunately. This year I have added more floss due to the colors that are multicolored. They have added a lot of flair to some of my pieces recently so I needed to add another box to my 4 storage containers worth I already have which now totals 5 of these containers.
