Harrison Butker Commencement Speaker at Benedictine College Atchison Kansas Catholic Liberal Arts Campus

Words spoken by a man with lived experiences is absolutely priceless when shadowed by the liberals crocodile tears in consternation fashion. I graduated from a Baptist University and I wish something like this had been said then to my generation. There was a specific group he was talking to, of course, even though liberal media wants to say he’s talking to them apparently even with the context of the speech. It went so far above their heads they are still spinning.

The beauty of his speech is the main point of his message. If you are not a good father to your kids or good husband to your wife your life will not show the values that would allow your goodness and good work ethic to shine through. I watched as Fox talked to Lou Holtz, a Hall of Fame Coach, in the cacophony of comments going back and forth from liberals to supporters of this wonderfully given speech. He himself was proud of this personal and heartfelt message shared with the Benedictine Graduates.

Life changes in-between graduations. Mine did and I ended up helping with the farm due to some health and family issues. Wanting a family if the right guy had come along would have trumped the job unless God allowed circumstances to slightly alter. Having a family though was always first on my mind. I never equated a career with a purpose. Going up the corporate ladder wasn’t in my plans. However, my timing and God’s timing were extraordinarily different time frames.

Hearing the words Harrison Butker wrote so pensively would have been nice to hear from some of the adults in the room. Even in the church, being mothers is emulated and we have the Crisis Pregnancy Centers to protect babies, but what about the ones who don’t have these titles yet. The ones who want to marry and have little ones to teach about God’s love. I have often wondered what my real purpose is in life since I am still nowhere near I thought I would be by this age in life. I can list many Biblical women I relate to in some slight way Miriam, Hannah, Deborah yet I am still waiting on God’s timing.

Always the adaptable one to depend on; that’s me. It’s a trait from our family farming years that I can’t seem to fade away from. Perhaps a testament to how incredibly special our farm was to our family. A true example of Butker’s message were the grandparents I observed growing up. His message truly hit a nostalgic chord with me every time I hear the clips from his speech.
