Unfortunately I can’t say I slept fitfully, it was a bit better than the previous 5 to 6 nights though. Dog-arn it though my feet and hands still felt itchy through the night though not as bad. I had enhance my fan to the highest level of high to finally get cold enough where I could stop worrying about the scratchiness and fall to sleep somewhere in the middle of the night.
Throughout the day I had noticed more blotchy spots forming in one other location. By the time I should have had my medicines though more spots were found on the way towards ER where we conveniently saw the Clinic parking lot cleaned of vehicles. Those spots could have been stopped if the medicine had just been called in but they weren’t. Instead it took a steroid shot in the ER to stop these spots cold. The new ones were the first to leave my skin after the shot my hands and feet still have some redness, but don’t hurt nearly as bad.
Truly I felt like crying this morning when my hands looked nearly clear of the red smudges and without pain. I use my hands to do so much and when they ache like that it makes working on projects much more difficult. Even my sore throat, well I didn’t have a sore throat for once after nearly 4 days. That was as much a thrill as my hands. However, it didn’t take long to realize my voice was affected. All morning long my small gritty voice has been painful to listen to.
The good news is that the ER doctor made good on his word. I got my medicines this morning, I would have gone straight to pick them up but first Mom had an appointment with her Sugar Doctor so we went there early this morning. I had troubles trying to speak even with the Clinic staff as we conversed about Mom’s treatment.
The realization of the last few days really hit me though. I was driving for the first time in nearly 6 days. When you can’t move your neck to the right very well you shouldn’t be driving so Mom even had to drive more than she usually does for me. The allergic reaction on top of having an ear infection is amazing how evolved and twisted my story became. Then as if it wasn’t salt on the wound the ER doctor was just as confounded as we were that my provider didn’t give me the medicine I needed after already reporting the reaction to the antibiotic. It took us nearly five minutes trying to convey those facts to him when we didn’t understand them either.
Thank Goodness for Mother’s though, or I would have stayed at home not feeling half as good as I do right now. I looked and felt like a mess and didn’t want to go to the ER at all and knew the allergic reaction had to be slowing down since I stopped taking the medicine, yet I can be pretty stubborn and didn’t want to be seen red blotches and all.
Thanks to Mom I had my first normal morning in nearly a week. When it comes to their babies Mama’s can be fierce and she was ready to fight for me yesterday that’s for certain. I am truly grateful for my Mama Bear.
