Jewells of Thought

This summer will be a little different for me. I am looking forward to the warm weather and my niece will be out of school. Something else will be filling my time though, family and kids. I will be getting to watch some little cousins for my cousins. It will be fun and a change of pace for me that hopefully will give a new perspective as well.

I will never forget my Valentine’s Day babysitting for a dozen of my friends and family’s kids for a church party. Talk about being exhausted and only having one other teenager to help me and she arrived late. Goodness I am a decade older this time and fortunately only 2 adorable kids to spend time with in a house I have spent lots of time in myself.

Mowing for my Great-Aunt for the few years we did was such a blessing. I still can’t get over the fact I didn’t know she made the beautiful cake for Mom’s wedding shower 40 years ago. The photo was amazing of the elaborate sugar concoction.

I am still praying that more changes will happen this summer, God willing. Although I don’t know what’s in the foreseeable future besides a birthday cake for my niece’s 12th birthday which seems unfathomable. It’s these little moments we have to cherish. Time with our loved ones.
