As I usually do I browse through the you-tube news clips first thing in the morning, mainly Fox. Today I watched Laura Ingraham with one guest and in my feed three more of his cohorts were on another show. So I watched both of them. I am not afraid to admit I was in tears after watching them.
The second show was from News Nation, besides three other college students the host also had John Rich on. This was a fairly good segment lasting 14 minutes. These students were all in a fraternity at University of North Carolina. Isn’t this a little odd that the former executive vice-president of marketing at Bud Light’s words suddenly seemed to come back to me. She said something like, “a brand of fratty, kind of out-of-touch humor,” Alissa Heinerscheid was describing the white males who supposedly drank her company’s brand of beer.
Now I don’t condone the beverage myself, but she lost quite a bit of her alleged savvy business acumen by saying that comment and by hiring the clown show named Mulvaney.
Those words should haunt her now. These young men stood up when it was absolutely necessary for them to do so on their own campus. They may be fratty, but they know how to stand for the anthem and sing that beautiful song that represents the blood, sweat, tears, loss and victories this country has endured over the last two centuries.
These students are shining examples that not all Americans or our campuses are entirely filled with dunces who do not understand history and patriotism. The young man on with Laura Ingraham is a Jewish student who was protesting the Palestinian protest and then saw the American flag come down. He said that it felt like a double blow for him as an American Jewish man.The day this happened was when the 4 police officers were shot the flag was at haft mast in respect for them. The other Hamas protesters were taking it down and putting that despicable Palestinian flag on that pole specifically for the American flag though. These young men stepped up for this battle of the flags and won.
In hindsight after this happened the Major of New York also stood up for the American flag. All because of his uncle who served. Thank God for that Uncle and that he chose this moment to be the proud American that our leadership has caved in on as of recently. The American flag has and still can unleash this powerful American spirit from the hearts of those Americans who know what service means and what sacrifice means because of that flag and maintaining a respect for that flag.
By the way, John Rich is going to be creating a concert called, “Flagstock.” It’s in honor of these students and it’s sounding really exciting. He might even have to write a song about their impressive battle of the flags and the Anthem. These are the types of stories that remind us how amazing that American Exceptionalism truly is in this unique country.
