Window Shopping at Little Nashville

This is my first photo of our Little Nashville Experience of 2024. As you can tell I would rather get everyone else in the photo than myself whenever possible. Although I did take a couple selfies later that evening. I really enjoyed this piece of art.

Once we got into jive or moving I realized I was wearing sandals not shoes. I kept waiting for the pain to hit me in some way. We were just going to drive around and see if we could locate some places we wanted to see, our plans were altered a little bit. If I had known we were going to be walking for up to a couple of hours I would have made sure my walking shoes were on. These sandals were one of the pairs I got from when Julie brought Aunt Carol’s shoes for the estate sale. Mom and I were able to look at them before they were put in our sale.

One of the first amazing stores we entered was for wood and furniture. The Trilogy Gallery was amazing and Dad couldn’t have stayed in there forever. We were all mesmerized by the craft and artistry of the work in this building. We all enjoyed it, but Dad was like a kid looking around in there. He has made and crafted some art just as easy.

In the next shop across the road these photos reminded me of Grandma Rosie. She had a ladder she had little stuffed animals on each rung and she decorated with it in the front living room. Plus Grandma loved butterflies she had them on the carpeted walls. Funny the things that spur on memories.

We walked around for no less than an hour and a half if not two hours.

The day was warm and perfect for a walk and we had a good time coming and going from shop to shop. Still though… I was waiting for pain to come up and bite me from my foot like it does so easily when I make unplanned decisions like wearing sandals for a two hour walk. Maybe it was because they were Aunt Carol’s, they have some padding which also allowed me to not feel the slightest pain. I also want to say the nice day, the sun also helped. If I can feel the pain especially in the cold, then heat may be not exactly the cure but another comforting agent as it was last Thursday for our walk.

One of the last shops we saw before taking a break and going back to the hotel was the glass blowing store. When we went inside the guy was quite talkative, but his gas was out. He says a day’s worth of gas for his torch is one and he was going for number two as we were leaving.

This just happened during the afternoon hours of being in little Nashville… the night is still young and we were surprised a couple of times that evening.
