This month has always been a busy month for my family. Especially the Alsman Family. There are at least no less than 5 birthdays. The first was actually the day of the Total Eclipse with one of my Mom’s cousins. Then together there was Grandpa’s and Lilly’s and then there is another lull until Uncle Tony’s and a couple days later my younger brothers. Still I may be missing one.
Plus there were the Anniversaries. There are three now to be correct even if one is no longer a recognized marriage anymore. There was a time when all the birthdays were celebrated together at once either at our Grandparents house or Uncle Floyd’s house in Loogootee. Those days are long past though now. They celebrate in their little clusters.
Except last night our branch celebrated at Olive Garden for Uncle Tony and James. They both like this restaurant really well so did Uncle Mike and Grandma it’s difficult to not think of them when we eat there now. Of course we ate too much of the salad and bread sticks as usual before we got our entrees, even with walking and doing a workout before eating.
The ironic part of the night is the fact that I had been thinking since Saturday I would paint my nails before the trip. Then last night a man wearing the color I had picked to put on single-handedly changed my mind. So I think I have decided on ‘he red my mind’ red. In all of the time I have had this color of red I never knew it said that on the top. Just as long as I remember Bryan would much rather I be wearing the nail color and maybe in a bit of time I will go back to the ‘Made in Jade’ green.
If I actually get them painted it will be a miracle though. I may still be in a food coma from last night. I didn’t want to get up this morning. Although there’s a possible alternate possibility for that thought. April has already been a whirlwind month. Hopefully this trip will give us pause to reflect and get some perspective and a bit of a refresh we need in the middle of this month.
