An American

I may have been offline for not quite 24 hours recently, yet over the past weekend I have had a lot of time to think. I mentioned seeing my Aunt’s gravestone. This is a cemetery I have not been to hardly at all just in passing I believe in all reality. There are a lot of church friends buried there though. Cemeteries are good places to think and observe the various stones. My uncle served so eventually hopefully not too soon he will have a service commemoration on the back of their gravestone.

When my Mom and I walk at our local cemetery close to the house where a great grandfather actually made some of the stones is comforting in a way. Having had the youth I did and watching some of what is happening today boggles my mind at times. It wasn’t but a few weeks ago chants were heard of ‘Death to America’ it was in Michigan, now this week a group of people are learning how to speak the same thing in Farsi so they can such horrendous remarks at the upcoming DNC in Chicago.

In Bakersfield, California, a young woman threatened the city council. Thereby saying they were somehow a part of the scheme keeping Gaza and Palestinians from a ceasefire. She is apparently living in an alternate universe and needs to be sent back to her country of origin if she doesn’t like it here I am certain a one-way ticket could be arranged somehow.

If only the people who believe they are so unhappy here would simply leave and go wherever they think they would be happier would be marvelous. What on earth is stopping them from doing so? Assimilation is what’s missing. They come here and become American but that’s not what has been happening in Dearborn, Michigan. Plus now the southern… porous border. No one has to do anything, but yet get the benefits of being an American even when it’s only on the outside a pseudo American. They have no idea the concepts of American citizenship or of American Exceptionalism.

Now on top of everything else the justice system has thrown on Donald Trump they won’t allow him to see a momentous family occasion. His youngest son is graduating from high school. The judge expects him to be in court every day including this special day. It’s a meaningful day for his son to have his parents there that day. Every child wants to have their parents on this day of celebration. He is still a man and a father and yet this is how they are treating an American President who has the love and admiration of the common and special American.
