Have you noticed something today? The news was almost entirely at least for the first half of the day if not most of the day about the Eclipse. The divisions that have stirred the states were tempered down quite a bit.

First thing this morning Trump reiterated his stance on abortion early. He had promised his message on the issue and it would be his official word on the matter period. His thoughts were as they always were to put the matters into the states hands, the people’s hands. He doesn’t want to take rights away like the Roe V Wade decision did he allowed the women to have the power back in their hands the way it should be.
All morning though the news was all about being prepared for the traffic afterward. Up in Indianapolis one of the biggest watching parties was in the Speedway, somewhere about 50, 000 Hoosiers and whatever mixture of tourists came to our state got to see the speedway for a different kind of race. I have been there once on a school field trip a long time ago. I got to see some amazing cars on my trip, but this trip could be potentially hours and hours long for some people to get homeward.
Hearing the delight of the people in the different places Fox Live Now showed was something neat to watch. I got to see at least 4 of the different Total Eclipses from the live streams in Mexico, Texas Indianapolis and Buffalo, New York. It has been quite a day to enjoy the reactions of Americans having emotional reactions to this magical experience.
Today was a day off for Dad though, so we just enjoyed our view from the television and my laptop. Most of the kids in Indiana had the day off, my niece had an E-learning day off from school. Dad actually had some fun cooking on the grill ribs and potatoes. It was nice getting a break this afternoon. Although I did have to make the barbecue sauce. Plus we had some left over Pineapple Upside Down Cake to eat it was so nice outside we ate outside on the back patio.
Even my Grandma was supposed to get glasses that were provided from her residence to see the Eclipse. We will have to ask her if she did indeed see it. I just now remember her talking about them handing out glasses.
Isn’t it nice that we can talk about something other than politics for a day? That something can give us common ground a wonder to experience together despite our political parties?
