Lately I have been working on some cross-stitch pieces not baby related. These will possibly need to be framed unless I can figure one more option out. Until then, though, framing them may be easier.
Upon my graduation from college my parents gave me a mat cutter. I had to learn as I did each cut, but it was fun and rewarding when it complemented the finished cross-stitch piece. Someone has moved my stockpile and a piece that was fully ready for a custom frame. While I am not too thrilled they were moved and without thought as to a possible mold infestation I can’t let it completely frustrate me.

Brothers moving things around can be really kind of agitating! Anyway because of being down in the basement my matting for this piece will have to be junked. It’s disfigured and has some mold on it. I really wish it had been framed before this could happen.
The bag that my pieces of other mat board will hastily put into a trash bag but not shut up well. Do you ever get frustrated with your siblings over things you can’t change? I put such work into my pieces and then the cutting takes a different type of aptitude. It’s just really disappointing sometimes.
So yesterday I had to go through all of my mat cut-outs and they are just not going to cut it anymore. I will have to make sure these new cuts I make will not be junked. Plus I am going to have to play with them a bit for practice purposes. I will be getting new mat boards, I was able to look last night I couldn’t remember what colors they had in them. Only last night it was raining and lightly raining off and on. I didn’t want to risk wet boards yesterday.
However, it sounds like I will be getting two boards this evening. My parents are on a date night and they are shopping in Terre Haute. They are going to get me the two boards we wanted to get lavender and white.I am looking forward to working with these mat boards in order to complement the recent pieces I have finished.

These are some behind the scenes photos. None of these are the complete versions of what I have finished. I have dreamed of working on some of my favorite hymn songs in pieces. I have to admit those musical notes were not easily stitched. Yet there is something really neat when I look at how close it looks to the hymn book page. I wanted to explore an idea that brings cross-stitch and my music together including my clarinet music.
