Proclamations

The Emancipation Proclamation, is the most well known, I believe, of proclamations. This was important for Lincoln to do so although many believed it did nothing to actually save the slaves of America. It was simply a parchment paper with words. Yet look at the staggering numbers that say otherwise. I have been to the Presidential Lincoln Museum twice now it’s an awesome work of history.

There is a whole room dedicated to the casualties and a running video of the battles. It is overwhelming both times I have been inside this room. One could be there for hours listening and reading all of the information that is recorded and stored in that one room.

Some people believe the Civil War was more about economics more than slavery. War can be about more than just one issue though, right! The North had more advantages going into the war money was a big factor, but yet most of the battles happened in southern territory. There is a cliche when people are fighting for their homes and family, it’s personal and they fight with all of their heart and soul. Wasn’t that just as true during the Revolutionary War?

Anyhow back to proclamations and personal thoughts and emotions. Yesterday was Easter and over the past weekend I have heard different comments even up to this afternoon. As the most holy day for Christians around the world this was such a slap in the face to half of the Americans that Biden needs for election. He touts himself as a Catholic man, a comforter and relatable blue-color worker. This week has been a bad week for him even with fundraising 26 million dollars. The dichotomy of Thursday and him siding with people changing their genders over God’s version of them over the most holy day in the Catholic and Christian tradition of faith over the centuries.

We are to believe that this is no big matter though. This proclamation came from Biden back in 2021, but because Easter changes year to year we as Christians are supposed to roll over with our faith to accommodate a minority of people on this Easter? What would President Lincoln think of this proclamation?

In this administration alone they have taken the month of June and October for Pride and Transgender events almost complete months out of the year for these minority groups. On top of 6 to 7 Proclamations for them specifically for certain days. What other group in America gets such superiority as a minority that hasn’t earned it like our Veterans have and Police, Firefighters, Emergency Services? They put their lives on the line to protect and serve us?

What exactly has the Transgender and LGBTQ groups done for America? Have they made the world a better place somehow with stealing the rainbow for their flag and twisting the meaning of the rainbow? Are they really happy in their lifestyle why do they have such hatred in their hearts then? If they are getting everything they wanted with this administration why do they not seem happy?

Yesterday I enjoyed a very beautiful Easter Sunday with my Church family and then with my Family for dinner. Smiles were everywhere. The sun was out and we know Christ is not in the tomb He is still very much alive and working with us and through us on a daily basis. God worked in President Abraham Lincoln’s time in office. His proclamation was right and true and necessary. It gave all those who were slaves hope for freedom just around the bend. Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass God placed the right men and women of different races in place to be on the right side with Lincoln.

God’s timing yet again was on time!

These proclamations could not be more different and written at such distinctly different times in American history. Where do you stand on these issues? It’s funny though why are Transgenders mostly happening in one direction? Men trying to change to women; something that cannot biologically happen. In so doing, they are endangering biological women in their sports habitat that is uniquely theirs.

What did Lincoln do with his parchment? It gave hope and answered prayers for men and women alike, American men and women. It fulfilled the wishes and desires of American Patriots after a hundred years of creating this infant God-fearing nation where people were created as equals. Where merit not the color of your skin mattered more. Which of these ideas brings about unity? Creating division or allowing people to be seen by their character not simply their skin tone?
