Two things come to mind at this time of year family time and time for chocolate!

Today is a day for self reflection and for family conversation. Not all families get to be together today or this weekend though do they? Israeli and American hostages are still in Hamas hands. What are their thoughts today? How do they get through this weekend knowing what’s happened and how different it is from last year?

Plus what about here in America? Families don’t have the money to travel to be with family or they have to make decisions? Food or gas for this week?

Then there is a genuine journalist in a Russian prison. While we have pseudo journalists at CNN and MSNBC this man was doing his job and now for an entire year has been incarcerated due to a false charge. Evan Gerschkovich’s sister was in a segment on the Newsroom with Bill Hemmer.

One cannot imagine unless you have gone through what the hostages and this journalist are going through. We Americans can find empathy for our fellow countrymen just as we have with this most recent officer’s death. Family is something we can relate to we have strong ties with our families. Easter is a time to celebrate God’s Resurrection and the fact he died for our sins, but He is no longer in that tomb.

We have hope because of Christ if you are saved. Chocolate, Peanut Butter Eggs are also a nice treat during this season
