In the early morning hours in Baltimore, Maryland a shocking event was enfolding. The Francis Scott Key Bridge is essentially gone now in the blinking of an eye. The Patpapsco River and this bridge were synonymous for nearly 50 years. This bridge is integral for commuters all around.
This morning a container ship or cargo ship I have heard both terms this morning went a bit haywire. In the video clip I saw the ship lost its power and the lights went off and on just before hitting a bridge support beam. It is pretty definite that something electrical was wrong in that ship whether it was originating with human error or navigation or with the control of the ship. An NTSB, National Transportation Safety Board, inspector came up with that analysis from what he saw in the clip.
The question now is will the Secretary of Transportation actually do something for a change? His reputation says otherwise and there’s a long list of failures on that roster. Even though this area is much closer to where he supposedly works an hour or so away.
As soon as I heard the name of this bridge I was wondering if this was meant to be a statement. This is before I noticed the lights and heard the investigator or inspector and his comments. Taking out a bridge like this for indefinitely. It seems as if there doesn’t have to be a good reason for liberals to take down our American hero statues so that was my first inkling with this supposed crash. We shall see when the investigation spills if it tells us everything we need to know about it.
Do you know how Francis Scott Key was?
Born during the American Revolutionary War on August 1, 1779 he was raised in Maryland to a family with affluence. His first inkling of a calling in his life though, was to be a priest. Instead he decided on a life as a lawyer. Due to his strongly held beliefs Francis was against the War of 1812… somehow though his conscience got the best of him and he ended up also serving in that war in 1813.
During the Battle of Bladensburg in August of 1814 he was among the soldiers just outside of the city of Washington, D.C. He had seen the British burn Washington down and then one of his personal friends and a physician had been captured and taken prisoner. Higher ups believed Key, as a successful attorney could better negotiate this friend. William Beanes release. So Key was sent to Baltimore by horseback and arrived on September 4th to meet with Skinner an Army Colonel. Skinner and Key sailed on a cartel ship, I had to read that a couple of times. Yes I said an American cartel ship under a safe-conduct flag within a few short days they found the British ship Tonnant on the 7th.
Beanes release was agreed to with one little prerequisite. Skinner, Key and Beanes could not leave until the bombardment of Baltimore was finished. Not only was this a 25 hour attack and bombardment the three men were watched by guards as Fort McHenry was being pulverized. This was the duress the Francis Scott Key went through while he penned the words and lyrics to “The Star Spangled Banner.”
The same song we use as our National Anthem. That for centuries we have proudly sang with our hands over our hearts in respect. A movement for many years now to have the 2nd anthem is disrespectful to this man and all those who died in every war preserving our peace. Black Americans are Americans how did we go for so long not needing a second or third or even 4th songs for other nationalities? America was united under this song; it gave us identity no matter what other nationalities we each have here we are Americans first and foremost. America gave us the blessings of freedom and abundance to have bridges as amazing and beautiful as this bridge was nearly 50 years.
Am I the only one to see the irony of the words that made Key famous written on a ship and then to have a cargo ship collapse the bridge meant to honor him. Or is this like I said on purpose? With so many of our beloved American heroes being decimated by the hatred and bigotry of the liberals it’s hard to not think about it this way.
