Do you still have surgery sites that will not dissipate away? Injuries that if hit in the right spot will absolutely hurt like the dickens? This happened several times and I hate to admit it they have been quite painful at times.

This was my first carpal tunnel which was done on my left hand. I was super duper careful about following directions except for the first night. I should not have eaten Chili that evening.
This is a fear of mine when I had each carpal tunnel release. I still remember with the first surgery on my left hand. I was scared to death of being at church or anywhere with people who could potentially hit my heavily bandaged hand. To be honest though it was my first surgery and didn’t know what to expect with my wrist. I was even more scared once I was able to take the bandage off and see the stitches and dried blood. What if my niece tries to do this or that? Of course it never happened. The fear was for nothing.
As I was in the middle of making Tuna Chip Casserole and fixing Sweet Tea I had an accident. The stinging pain must have blocked out what actually happened though to create that pain. There’s only a thin piece of skin over my wrist where that surgical site is located. Anytime I hit that area you better believe it hurts.

Fortunately it just left that little scratch, but I don’t think I have had any scratches like this since my surgery. I don’t remember seeing anything get redder than this did and this was about 5 minutes or more after the pain event. I had to leave what I was doing and just hold my arm a few minutes before I was able to think about what to do. Thankfully I didn’t throw away all my sleeves. First though my arm had gotten sticky and I still can’t figure that out since I hadn’t even opened the sugar yet for the tea.
It could have just been stickiness from the ingredients from the casserole, but I don’t know otherwise. So anyway I felt I needed the sleeve to protect my achy wrist. It did slow down my cooking and finishing the tea though too. Fortunately my back up came in after their shopping spree.
I know it’s my arm but when this happened it felt like I got hit in the gut from that action. Two years later from my original surgery and it’s still this sensitive. I pray God allows this to be the only arm surgery I have. I don’t want to have to imagine this same surgery on my dominant side. The good thing is it hurt and I was close to tearing up… but I didn’t.

This was the first wrist/arm surgery I had back on September 9th, 2021, then I had the removal of the 8 screws and plate in June of 2022.
